Cookies notice.
What cookies are, which ones this website uses, and how you can manage your preferences.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, to remember preferences and to provide information to website operators.
Beyond cookies, this notice also covers similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and tags, which can perform comparable functions.
2. Categories of cookies
We use the following categories of cookies, in line with established conventions:
- Strictly necessary — essential for the website to function (security, accessibility, basic navigation). These cannot be disabled.
- Functional — remember preferences such as language, helping the site work better for you.
- Analytics / performance — help us understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. Aggregated and anonymised where possible.
- Marketing / targeting — used to deliver relevant content; only set with your explicit consent.
3. Cookies and storage used by this website
This website does not set any cookies of its own. It uses your browser’s local storage for the items below. Local storage stays on your device, is not sent to our server with each request, and you can delete it at any time through your browser settings.
| Name | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
apis_consent | Records your consent choices, with the date and the policy version they apply to | Strictly necessary | Until you change your choices, clear your browser storage, or we update this policy |
apis_choice | Remembers the region and language you selected | Strictly necessary | Until you clear your browser storage |
apis_guides_unlocked | Keeps the Guides & eBooks library unlocked after you have requested a guide | Strictly necessary | Until you clear your browser storage |
To suggest the right language on your first visit, the site asks our own server for the country associated with your connection. That lookup runs on apisgroup.net. Your IP address is not passed to any third party and is not stored.
4. Third-party cookies and resources
All fonts, images and scripts are served from the apisgroup.net domain. No third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools are used. The only third-party content is optional:
- Google Maps (Contact page, “External media” category) — loaded only after you allow external media in the consent banner, or click “Load map”. Google then receives your IP address and may set cookies; see the Google Privacy Policy.
We will obtain consent before loading any non-essential third-party resources where required by law.
5. Managing your cookie preferences
Through our consent banner
When you first visit the site, a consent banner allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the cookie-preferences link in the footer.
Through your browser
You can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View the cookies on your device and delete them individually or in bulk.
- Block third-party cookies, or all cookies (note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site).
- Receive a notification before each cookie is stored.
For instructions specific to your browser, see the help pages of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.
6. Updates to this notice
We update this notice when our use of cookies changes or when applicable law requires changes. The "effective date" at the top of this notice indicates when it was last revised.
